Meet the Coach
Dylan Spendlow
Hi, my name is Dylan Spendlow and I’m the coach and founder of FormFirst Basketball Academy. I’m currently studying Psychology and Sociology in Maynooth University, and I’ve been coaching since I was a teenager. I started playing basketball at 14 after spending most of my life training in MMA. Learning the game was challenging at first, but I loved it. At 16, I earned my Level 0 coaching certificate, and by 17 I completed my Level 1. Since then, I’ve coached U18, U16, and U14 teams with Streete Basketball Club and have been lucky enough to work with players across multiple schools, towns, and clubs.
In December 2024, I was offered the opportunity to teach at Presentation Primary School, which opened the door to coaching in several other schools and communities. I now also work with players through one‑to‑one training and a weekly Monday group skills session.
I created FormFirst Basketball Academy so every young player can access quality coaching, no matter their experience or background. I want players to reach the level their hard work deserves, not the level their access to training has allowed. My experience, education, and passion for the game give me the tools to help players develop faster, build confidence, and reach their potential.
